A core aim of the FAM&I Lab is to train the next generation of developmental/educational psychology scholars. We welcome scholars interested in understanding and promoting the positive development and the social-cultural assets of ethno-racially minoritized teens and young adults!
If you are interested in potentially joining the FAM&I Lab, we encourage you to read Dr. Nestor Tulagan's Mentorship Statement to evaluate whether your interests and goals fit with the lab!
Doctoral Training: Dr. Tulagan is accepting applications for the 2025-2026 Ph.D. cycle. Depending on your goals and research fit, prospective Ph.D. students can apply to:
the Ph.D. program in Developmental Psychology at the Department of Psychology (School of Arts & Sciences); and/or
the Ph.D. program in Education with a specialization in Human Development at the Department of Counseling & Human Development (Warner School of Education & Human Development).
Master's Students at the Warner School & Undergraduate Students at UR: Dr. Tulagan is accepting Master's students from the Warner School and UR undergraduate students with a well-developed idea for research that is aligned with the current work at the FAM&I Lab. You can also learn about doctoral-level training and possible next steps in your career! We are looking for intellectually curious and responsible research assistants who can commit 10 to 15 hours per week for at least 2 semesters.
